Welcome to The Ledger. By accessing our website at starttheledger.com or purchasing any of our products, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. General

These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including browsers, customers, and subscribers. We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

2. Products & Subscriptions

The Ledger offers two subscription formats:

  • Hard Copy — a physical printed issue delivered to your address on a monthly basis.
  • Digital PDF — a downloadable digital issue delivered electronically each month.

By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis for 12 months. The Ledger is a 12-volume publication, and your subscription will conclude upon delivery of the final issue.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in US dollars. We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. If a price change affects your subscription, we will notify you in advance. Payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments.

4. Intellectual Property

All content published in The Ledger — including text, design, photography, and layout — is the intellectual property of The Ledger and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without express written permission.

5. Digital Downloads

Digital PDF issues are for personal use only. You may not share, resell, or redistribute any digital content purchased from The Ledger.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Ledger shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or website. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid for the product in question.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. By purchasing from The Ledger, customers in the United States and Canada agree that any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of California.
